There are two kinds of File Uploads possible within POOPSY:
The "Upload LaTeX" button which appears on the menu for each page
can only be used to upload a version of the current LaTeX macro
which you previously obtained with the "Preview LaTeX" button, and which you
may or may not have edited off-line.
You need only edit the "editable" sections as indicated in the comments
contained in the LaTeX file.
The editable sections currently include the abstract, scientific justification,
references, technical feasibility, and recent time allocations on other
large telescopes.
When you upload this file only these
sections are copied into the database. All other changes are ignored.
The file "Upload" buttons contained within the individual proposal
sections, such as the one associated with the Scientific Justification,
are used to upload individual subsections that you have previously
created and edited on your local computer. These files include only the LaTeX
text which will be embedded within your proposal at the proper location.
In both cases, you upload a file by entering the full directory path and
filename on your local computer in the file text box. Clicking on the
"Browse" button will open up a "Browse" window on your display which can
assist you in locating the desired file.
Warning! Uploading a file will replace the
existing entry (or entries if you are uploading the entire LaTeX
file) in your proposal.
